Understanding Childhood Trauma
About
Understanding Childhood Trauma:
We all hear the shocking stories of child abuse, predators and the horrifying sex trade among children. The family secrets where no one is allowed to talk of such abuse by another family member. Believing the child will forget being horrifically raped and abused as the years go on. Adults covering up reasons that a child is being abused, simply because it is easier to find an excuse than it is to believe that a child is in fact, being abused. What about children who grow up and are quick to use their own wronged childhood as a reason for their bad choices in adulthood?

And until one can connect visually and spiritually with that child and understand the acts of abuse that child has lived through, it will be hard for any adult to interact with that abused child. A pain that is always carried. Children are suffering from a hidden epidemic of child abuse and neglect. It’s a widespread war against our children that we have the power to stop, and understanding the issue is the first step.
When the pity is easier to look at than what the communication will tell, we as children are told to move on and forget. As adults we are told to forgive, yet we live our whole lives trying to forget something we will always remember and search for forgiveness in what is so unforgivable. I know this to be true, because I am one of those abused children who grew up and I have some things I want you to understand…
